I visited Austria last month, and, though not as photo intensive as most other trips I’ve been on, I found I had taken a few decent photos once I returned home. The one place that I shot with anything approaching my usual zeal was the iconic St. Stephen’s cathedral.
The trip got off to a rocky start. The flight over, though not particularly bumpy, was sleepless and uncomfortable. We arrived in Vienna early local time, groggy with the prospect of a zombie-like day in front of us. Our AirBnB host was late in meeting us at the rental apartment, and once we did get in, I wanted nothing more than to take a nap in a real bed. Thus, it was already close to 2:00PM by the time we finally had awakened and blearily sallied forth.
We made the Cathedral our first stop, as it was only a couple minutes away and one of the most famous sites in this ancient city. I think muscle memory must have kicked in, because I found myself pretty happy with the shots I took here. Nothing groundbreaking, to be sure, but the quality of the light streaming through the massive stained glass windows on this bright spring day made for a fun shoot.

Wow such a beautiful and imposing cathedral 🥰 I’ve been to Vienna once, but it was such a short trip, I didn’t have much time for sightseeing. I need to return one day ☺️
