I’ve focused on all the urbex photos from Italy in the preceding few posts. What’s left? Some of the more touristy shit, I suppose. We were in Italy, after all, a country that’s renowned for its beautiful countryside as well as its cultural attractions, and I’m not blind to those charms, however much I may love an old abandoned villa.
The weather we had was often overcast and drizzly, which didn’t make for great landscape photography. The couple shots I got that I liked were street shots, rather than the sweeping panoramas I tend to look for. Here’s a couple from Milan, and a couple from lakeside towns in the foothills of the alps.

The remaining shots are from the day we took a trip into the mountains to la strada delle 52 gallerie, or road of 52 tunnels, a World War One supply route through the mountains, which allowed Italy to effectively supply its troops facing down the dread Austrians across rugged mountain gorges. This national historical monument is open to hikers, with each tunnel bearing a name, often after commanding officers of the era. The first two are from the drive up, overlooking the valleys below, and the last are of the road itself.

That’s all from Italy! Thanks for checking these out.
