(part of the Utah series)
I would have a hard time picking a favorite national park out of those I’ve visited, but for best ratio of decent shots taken to time and effort spent, Canyonlands would likely be first. We did hike some trails early in the day, but spent most of our time here driving around in our rented Jeep, stopping off to take shots as we saw fit. Once again, the little four wheel drive shitbox came in quite handy on the bumpy trails here.
A bonus of visiting Canyonlands National Park is that the landscapes here make you appreciate the sheer vastness of planet Earth. Visit here and take in the impossibly massive vistas, then look at satellite images of the same area. Every wide gorge here is but a small corner of the dense fractal pattern you’ll see on google. If you don’t get a taste of the sublime here, you might be broken.

Our day only got cut short by a thunderstorm rolling in, and we made it out of the canyon just as the first drops were starting to fall. Still made for a nice moody shot to close out the day.

Thank you stopping by, still more Utah to come!
