The Yaniv train station outside Pripyat isn’t very impressive. If you follow some rails into the woods, however, you’ll soon be greeted by the sight of railcars and locomotives rusting away among the pines. Since some of them are quite radioactive, they were allegedly derailed intentionally in order to permanently strand them in the Exclusion Zone. Thus the station and and its environs has undergone quite an ontological reversal: from a place of transience, movement, and schedules, to one of stillness, decay, and timelessness.
From a photographic standpoint, it’s hard to resist the contrast between the deep red of the rust and the green of the trees surrounding it.

Agreed, the colors work well together here. I also enjoy watching the result of man made machinery meshing with nature.
