A prominent hill in a small rural town is the site of a former military academy turned private boarding school. As it is surrounded by a quiet subdivision, we decided to get there before sunrise. In the dishwater gray predawn light, we trudged along a sleeping lane until we reached a cul-de-sac, then pushed through some brambles and bushes. Once on the other side, the shrubbery that had torn at our clothes became our ally, as once on this sprawling property, you are almost completely obscured from view.
We took a few moonlit exterior shots, and by the time we got in the sun was peeking through the windows. By the time we left several hours later, I had a decent amount of photos to pick through. Here are the ones that made the cut.
